When the modern world fails, ancient wisdom awakens.
We live in a world of fragile dependencies. When a storm cuts power and the warmth fades, we are left vulnerable.
In the Arctic wilderness, an old loner, a shaman, lives by different rules. He does not fight the elements; he moves with them. As the modern world loses its grip, he draws on the sacred knowledge of generations to survive.
In the face of nature's power, he is more than a survivor. He is the keeper of the truth.
Bent B. Olesen was born in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands, and later moved to Denmark with his family before settling in Greenland in 1973. Today, he resides in Southern Greenland. With a career as a carpenter and construction technician, Olesen's work is deeply rooted in Greenlandic culture, its people, and its rugged landscape. He spent five formative years living in Tasiilaq, East Greenland a period that profoundly shaped his perspective. Many of the vivid impressions and cultural insights found in this book are drawn directly from his time in the Tasiilaq region.
