The book "In the Mao Zedong era" is a memoir about the lives of the Chinese people, for better or worse - before and after the liberation in China, focusing on the period from 1949 to 1976. We follow the author's own life, looking back at the historical events of that period. She hopes that through this book, more people around the world will understand the true historical story of China during the Mao Zedong´s time.

Wei Li Zhang

Wei Li Zhang was born and raised in Shanghai. She graduated from nursing school, majoring in health nursing and early childhood education. In China, she worked at the Shanghai Municipal Education Bureau. She has lived in Denmark since 1990 and graduated from the University of Copenhagen with a Master of Law degree in 1999.
In China, she published children's books and books for parents in the 80s. In 2018 and 2021 she published the series "Living in the mermaid's hometown" 1 and 2 in Chinese. In the books she told the Chinese about the wonderful Denmark where she lives.
In 2023, she published "I Mao Zedongs tid" in Danish in Denmark.
