It is common to have a crisis about aging. This type of crisis frequently pops up whenever someone is turning a sharp age corner - like 30, 40 or 50. Everybody wants to get old, but nobody wants to be old.
This book is about getting older. More specifically, it is about a charismatic and quite extraordinary woman called Lola. She got old - like we all eventually do, if we are lucky. Lola would have wished that she was a superhero with magic abilities to stay young forever. Or a vampire. (Vampires never actually die - unless someone forces them to, for example, sunbathe on a beach in Ibiza.) Even though Lola occasionally dressed up like a superhero and sometimes a vampire, she was only human.
Lola did a lot of research on eternal life and youth. Humankind has been looking for the legendary eternal fountain of youth and studying immortal lobsters and ants because they do not age. From a scientific point of view, Lola investigated these things and others, too.
So, maybe you will find the answer to eternal youth if you read this book. Maybe not. To find out, you will have to read it.
